Consulting

You are about to make one of the most important decisions of your life,
and you need a success coach in your corner.

I’ll tell you right now what services we offer and why you need a college admissions consultant.

As a good parent, you don’t enroll your child in a school and then forget about him,and presume that everything will go well and you will never need to contact the school again.

Well,as a good parent, you should also know that many schools are over-crowded and understaffed.  The job of the high school guidance counselor is being stretched to its limits.

Many students are simply not getting the college admissions counseling that they need to make informed decisions about the college admissions process. These students are finding it difficult to make adequate plans for their future. In fact,a 2005 report by English Professor,Patricia M. McDonough of UCLA states that the average high school student receives about 38 minutes per year of college admissions counseling.

Yvette O.,newspaper reporter:

When I sought out Mrs. Arnold,my goal was to have my son achieve the highest possible score on the SAT. At the time,I knew that strong scores translated into scholarship money and acceptance to the schools of our choice.

Mrs. Arnold came highly recommended by others who had used her. She did not disappoint.

For starters, she had my son take an SAT Prep Test, which she scored. This established a benchmark, gave us a sense of where he was, allowed us to identify weaknesses and set realistic goals for gains we hoped to see in the scores.

My bottom line was increasing the scores and this was my barometer for measuring success. The first time around, my son scored almost exactly where the test administered by Mrs. Arnold showed he would. The second time around, after coaching by Mrs. Arnold, his scores jumped about 100 points in each area.

As a result,we received scholarship offers. More importantly,Mrs. Arnold’s efforts have had a visible impact on my son’s success at Morehouse College, where he is majoring in finance and has been nominated for and accepted into the National Honor Society.

The American School Counselor Association recommends a counselor-to-student ratio of 100:1. However, the average college counselor-to-student ratio in the United States is 500:1.  In fact,in virtually every major city I know, the ratio is at least 600:1 and in some cases is as high as 1000:1.

That’s where the college admissions consultant comes in.

I offer various levels of service. I will be the coach who is always in your corner, assuring you that you can make the right moves to get into your top-choice college.

You choose the level of consulting you need. Some of my college admissions consultant packages offer unlimited time, while others are paid on an hourly basis.

You decide what is best for you. Because I offer individualized services,I do restrict the number of students I work with. Space is limited and is on a first come, first served basis.
